- Meet Erik
Erik Hannerz is educated in cultural sociology and is researching on issues related to identity, style, music, authenticity, creativity in relation to urban environments. He is one of Sweden's foremost experts on subcultures.
Erik is besides a researcher and teacher, also a frequent lecturer on issues related learning and young people's venues. He has in recent years worked with some twenty municipalities and a dozen countries and organizations that enable and motivate young people who feel excluded to take place in society based on the knowledge and skills they already have potential. His recent publications include the books Performing Punk (2015) as well as DIY, nonformal learning, and Youth Self (2013).
He is since 2014 active at the Department of Sociology, Lund University, and since 2013 also the Faculty Fellow at the Center for Cultural Sociology, Yale University.
